​This Tournament started as a simple dream between a father and a son, and has been a long time coming… years in fact. 

Countless years of practices, games, tournaments and endless driving, making sure our boys had the opportunity to do this sport that meant the world to them… Lacrosse

 

In 2017, our son Johnathan had the opportunity to play in a men’s memorial lacrosse tournament in Prague, Czech Republic, [this sparked his interest in hosting a tournament. In 2023 on his fifth time attending this tournament, we were finally able to make the trip with him and his wife Nicole. Upon our return home after much talking, planning, and gathering information, the realization of the commitment to make it happen was huge, still, we felt completed to make this dream a reality.

 

We wanted to create a memorable event here in Calgary for men's lacrosse similar to the tournament in Prague. We have teams with prayers from all over the world who are willing to participate and help grow the game. We hope this even encourages our youth to continue playing and enjoying lacrosse into their adulthood. We are so proud that we have this far as a family. 

 

The Cowtown Showdown invitational tournament represents commitment, love, respect, loyalty and determination and we are so happy to be able to present to you our invitational lacrosse tournament again, here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
